VERDICT: Ozark returned to winning ways last time over 1600m and his previous start proves he is effective over this distance. He should remain competitive from gate 1 but looks vulnerable under a 6-point penalty. Tothemoonandback has rediscovered his form and consistency recently in 3 starts off his current mark and is 3,5kg better off with Ozark on the form of their course-and-distance meeting in early October. Mohandas, Mela Strength and State Capitol should get closer to those rivals on these revised weight terms. Last-start maiden winner Gnarly could have more to offer over this distance.
