VERDICT: A dual winner over hurdles, the Colm Murphy-trained Tangental is unquestionably well handicapped over fences. However, aside from a promising third at Down Royal in April, the eight-year-old has yet to replicate that form since going chasing. Returning here off the back of a summer break, the gelding is worth another chance to show what he is capable of. Plain Or Battered has to be of interest on what is only his second start over fences. The Philip Rothwell-trained gelding, who is rated higher over hurdles, was placed in a hunter chase before falling early on his only subsequent chase outing. Top-weight Ishan looks very well treated in this discipline but may just prefer a stiffer stamina test.
