VERDICT: Effective when fresh, Monsieur Fantaisie won gamely over 7f at Southwell but having never won races back-to-back, nor raced at this venue before, plenty needs taking on trust as he returns from a 236-day absence. Therefore, the far less exposed Supernova Steps, who was a ready winner at the same venue last week, could be the way to go, with a 6lb penalty unlikely to be an issue. Fellow in-form contenders Ana Emaraaty and Tomorrow Day should also be competitive again.
