VERDICT: Clockmaker has ability but can be a law unto himself and wouldn't be one for maximum faith based on how he downed tools at Goodwood most recently. Cadarn on the other hand, was a close second to a promising type in a novice over 1m2f at Newcastle last month. Given his only previous start was a respectable fourth in a Huntingdon bumper, this additional two furlongs could be a source of improvement. Sueno appeals more than Volakes of the rest.
