VERDICT: Spirit Of Applause has been in great form on the all-weather recently and having been narrowly denied at Southwell on Tuesday, he is certain to prove popular once more, as is Dark Kestrel, who is 6lb higher following last month's C&D triumph. However, marginal preference is for King Of Stars. Mick Appleby's charge shaped with considerable promise in a conditions event at Beverley when returning from a lengthy absence and the well-handicapped seven-year-old may well step forward with that run under his belt.
