VERDICT: Bella Ciao (12) opened her account in a Clairefontaine handicap late last month and proved she remains competitive off her current mark (under a 2,5kg penalty) by finishing 2nd at Bordeaux in early November. She is ideally placed to reconnect with success and gets the nod ahead of Crocus Borget (11) whose recent performances augur well for his chances here. Bow Lane (8) will find this distance and the return to turf more to his liking, so he shouldn't be taken lightly. Both Joao (4) and Princedeschamps (10) are excused for disappointing recent efforts and retain the means to make their presence felt.
