VERDICT: Denied by the narrowest of margins on his last visit here, Koniag can gain some compensation. A winner on turf at Leopardstown earlier in the year, the Kieran Cotter-trained gelding has twice finished runner-up on the Polytrack. Despite being raised 2lb for his recent defeat, the three-year-old looks nicely handicapped. Colin Keane, who rode a four-timer here last week, is a significant booking. Dancing Steve, another who has strong recent placed form at this track, looks a live threat. The Ado McGuinness-trained gelding has the aid of Adam Caffrey's valuable claim. Poyraz Approach, a winner on her final start in Germany, is an intriguing contender on her stable debut for Matthew Smith.
