VERDICT: School For Scandal defeated Jony Max, who went on to record success of his own at Warwick next time, at Wincanton last month. The latter might be 2lb well-in under a penalty, but he is worse off with School For Scandal and might need more to reverse the form. Both merit respect, but it is Lock Out who shades preference. A comfortable winner at Chepstow last month, David Pipe's charge seemingly missed a golden opportunity to follow up quickly when turned over at Hereford three days later. However, he's back up in trip and should go very close.
