VERDICT: Only a nose separated Deterministic and Royal Majesty when third and fourth in the Saratoga Derby. Both have performed well since but Christophe Clement's classy colt is fancied to confirm his superiority, however marginal. Desvio wasn't that far behind him in the Virginia Derby, while Cugino is better than he showed in the Nashville equivalent.
