VERDICT: Latenightpass has a good record on this course and should not be underestimated, although a mark of 147 appears to be stiff enough. As a result, the vote goes to Percussion, who has been placed in the last two renewals of this contest. The nine-year-old was second off this mark in a valuable event at Uttoxeter when last seen in June and he has to be high on the shortlist. Frero Banbou disappointed in the Topham in April but is 3lb lower than when third in this race 12 months ago, while Sure Touch and Outlaw Peter are others to note.
