VERDICT: Pure Carbon made a pleasing hurdling debut when second at Warwick last month and he should have learned a great deal from the experience. With normal improvement, he could prove very hard to beat. The main threat might be Roysse, who struck in a bumper here in January and is an interesting contender on his first start over timber. Smart Flat performer L'astronome needs to be monitored in the market, with the booking of Harry Cobden catching the eye.
