VERDICT: Karaiella Bond (5) has done nothing but improve over recent months and even though racing with shoes on this time, she starts on the first line and can finally open her Nantes account. Guillaume Martin can still expect to feel the pressure from the similarly well-positioned Klarck De Vandel (2) who is proven at the venue and who races barefoot for the occasion, and a barefoot Kiphyle Desbois (8) who starts on the 2nd row, but whose credentials at this level require no confirmation. Koala Des Arcs (6) appreciates these conditions, comes off a win at Les Sables, and is suitably well-engaged to finish close.
