VERDICT: Academy Winner, placed in a Gowran handicap over a mile last month, is less exposed than many of these and can score. Denis Hogan's three-year-old is related to plenty of dirt winners in the US and didn't run badly over the extended ten furlongs on his first visit here. He should be suited by dropping back in trip. Dark Viper has been runner-up six times on turf this season, mostly on easy ground. He ran well on AW debut when trained in Britain last year but it remains to be seen how he'll handle this surface. Redemptive Power was second over a longer trip in a handicap here last month and should be competitive at this level.
