VERDICT: Caldwell has been very reliable in all disciplines from the summer onwards and made a successful beginning to his chasing career at Hexham. Back over the smaller obstacles, he is just 1lb higher, with the extra half-mile fancied to bring him forward even further. Rickety Gate showed the benefit of a break when justifying favouritism at Kelso and looks dangerous. Grass's Jet was well fancied on his debut for this yard at Bangor and although disappointing, it is too soon to give up on him.
