VERDICT: Benevento, who holds an Irish 2,000 Guineas entry, responded gamely for David Egan when running on well to snatch victory in the Flying Scotsman Stakes at Doncaster. With the third home subsequently landing a Group 3 at Newmarket, that form has the most solid appearance. Yaroogh impressed when winning a Listed affair at Chantilly a fortnight ago and the consistent son of Dubawi is another must for the shortlist. The unbeaten Bob Mali and Make You Smile both step up in class, but are noteworthy contenders.
