VERDICT: Broadway Boy enjoyed a fine start to life over fences before his form tailed off in high-class company. He is likely to be ready to do himself justice on his return, but may face a couple of better-handicapped rivals. Senior Chief was well fancied for the Irish National, only to pull up, and is an interesting contender if handling quicker conditions. The vote, though, goes to Some Scope, who won at Catterick and Doncaster before running with great credit when runner-up to Does He Know in the Grimthorpe and finishing fourth here on the New Course in April. The six-year-old doesn't appear to have reached his ceiling yet and appears set for another productive campaign.
