VERDICT: None of these can be ruled out with any great confidence, so only a tentative nod goes to Bugise Seagull. He looked one to keep on the right side of when scoring comfortably on his first two starts last season, before going on to finish third in Listed and Grade 1 events at Huntingdon and Aintree. Having performed well in a point-to-point before joining this yard, he looks the one to side with tackling fences for the first time. Johnnywho was last seen finishing a respectable fourth in a valuable handicap over the extended 3m at Aintree in April and this course winner looks the biggest threat. That said, Cherie D'am was third in the Grade 1 Sefton Novices' Hurdle at that same Grand National meeting and she must be respected on her chasing bow.
