VERDICT: It could pay to stick with Carnival Day as he bids for a hat-trick, with Joe Leavy's 3lb claim partially negating a 5lb rise for winning with a bit in hand at Sandown last Monday. An earlier victory at Brighton came on soft going, so the improving three-year-old will likely cope with today's underfoot conditions. King's Code has winning form at this venue as well as on heavy ground, while it's too soon to write off Historic City, despite a disappointing effort at Kempton last time.
