VERDICT: Layfayette has gained the majority of his nine career wins over this trip and comes here off the back of a solid effort over 1m4f at Ascot, only weakening in the closing stages when third to Al Qareem in the Group 3 Cumberland Lodge. He is weighted to reverse last year's placings in this race with Sunchart, who reverts from hurdling and is well suited by soft ground. Elizabeth Jane finished well when fourth in the Irish Oaks and the Moyglare Stud homebred, who won here on debut in testing ground last autumn, may find this enough of a stamina test on the prevailing ground.
