VERDICT: Chestnut Bomber won over this distance as a juvenile. He has acquitted himself well in defeat over 1450m in both starts this term but will relish the return to 1600m in his peak outing, so it should pay to follow his progress. Zip Code finished 0.25 lengths ahead of that rival and was subsequently gelded, so he remains open to improvement. Wild Intent confirmed the promise of his debut win with a staying-on 4th in a similar contest over 1400m and on that evidence of that performance, he should also find this extended trip more to his liking. Fillies Fireburst and Far Reaching have claims too.
