VERDICT: First-time blinkers seemed to have a positive impact on Jimli's Cave when he made the breakthrough over a little bit further at Downpatrick last week. The six-year-old has placed form at up to 3m1f and Donagh Meyler made good use of his stamina on the final circuit. Now 7lb higher, connections will be hoping that the headgear works again, although any deterioration in the ground would be a concern. The form of Lispopple's soft-ground win at Roscommon was franked when the runner-up was touched off next time, while Le Grand Vert has been in good form over fences and may have found the race coming too soon when disappointing over hurdles two starts back.
