VERDICT: Given an easy introduction to competition at Vire mid-September, Love Land Lova (13) made short work of the opposition at Caen a fortnight later and, even with just hind pads fitted, can make his monte bow a winning one. Anthony Barrier will still be mindful of the tricky Lord De Jade (12) who debuts in the discipline with front pads fitted, and the more experienced Lotus Des Champs (15) who placed on both starts here over the summer. Le Roupio (16) got back in the game here recently and warrants respect.
