VERDICT: Merisi Diamond and Mercurial pulled well clear of the rest of the field when fighting out the finish in a C&D contest on heavy ground last month and the former may confirm the form. Joanna Morgan's powerfully-built five-year-old didn't run badly off his revised mark at the Curragh and has scope for further progress. Following his narrow defeat here, Mercurial was held in two outings at Chester on successive days in mid-September but is 10lb better off at the weights with the selection which gives him strong claims on paper. Trip and ground are right for Dragon Of Malta who went close at Listowel last time while Current Option has come down to an attractive mark and drops in grade.
