VERDICT: Paul Townend stays loyal to Daddy Long Legs, who won three times as a novice last season, including a handicap at the Punchestown Festival, but has questions to answer after two disappointing runs. He dropped out tamely when a hot favourite over C&D in the Grade 3 won easily by Winter Fog in July, with Senecia well behind in fourth, before losing his chance at the start in the Galway Hurdle. Winter Fog had the patiently-ridden Mighty Tom just under three lengths behind when fourth under a big weight at Ballybrit, while Smooth Tom is an admirable dual-purpose gelding but faces a stiff task at the weights.
