VERDICT: Like a horse reborn after changing stables last winter, Jag Royal (4) confirmed his good return run with a solid victory over course and distance a month ago, and has earned the right to take his chances at this level. Very much at ease under these conditions, Julejacq (11) has a race under his belt, is shod to preference, and will be expected to play a leading role. In the frame in 2 of 3 following his layoff, Jiminy Cricket (12) appreciates Laval and will have every chance of trotting his way onto the podium. New to the venue, and plainly in good shape, Just A Man (13) will not be far off the mark if he reproduces his penultimate performance.
