VERDICT: Lawn Ranger may not be the force of old but he has won here five times over this trip, all off higher marks and, most importantly, with plenty of cut in the ground. He could surprise and place at a big price, as could handicap debutant Lzaz, who sneaks in off a mark of 61 stepping up in trip for the Balding/ Murphy combination. Both could go well, though if Beautiful Crown makes the most of a return to this trip after solid efforts over further on the all-weather, he could carry top-weight to victory under Rossa Ryan.
