VERDICT: Aidan O'Brien looks to hold a strong hand as he bids for a record-extending eighth Middle Park and Whistlejacket may prove tough to peg back. A brother to the yard's brilliant juvenile Little Big Bear, the progressive son of No Nay Never impressed when landing the Prix Morny and a reproduction of that effort could be enough to see him in the winner's enclosure once more. His stable companion Ides Of March showed his class when running out a comfortable winner of the Round Tower Stakes, although Gimcrack runner-up Shadow Of Light remains open to improvement after just three starts and might emerge as the main danger. The unbeaten Defence Minister impressed when scoring comfortably at Haydock and is respected too.
