VERDICT: A competitive event with a number in contention, a small preference nevertheless goes to the erratic but capable Hexcellente (11) who is fitted with pads for her first objective of the autumn. More dependable and better-positioned in front, Histoiremika (7) imposed under these conditions last season and has the ability to win this, as does the on-song Hermes De Clopeau (12) who won his last 2 in this configuration. Hollenbourg (5) is significantly better than his latest result would suggest and, from the 5-spot, will be competitive provided Maxence Vaudoit assures his initial strides.
