VERDICT: Il Est Francais (1) misfired when last seen in early April but was a convincing winner at Kempton Park on Boxing Day last year of the Kauto Star Novices chase ( Grade 1). He can be expected to be ready for this return run. Amy Du Kiff (4) likes this track and won the Prix Maurice Gillois (Grade 1 ) at this track in November 2023. He looks like the main danger. Toscana Du Berlais (5) is a Grade 2 winner at this track over fences in late April and warrants respect. Gold Tweet (3) is also worth a mention.
