VERDICT: Sam Hawkens wasn't at all disgraced when fourth at the Shergar Cup last month and the son of Galileo makes plenty of appeal with underfoot conditions promising to suit him. A winner on heavy ground at Salisbury, all of his subsequent efforts have come on much livelier surfaces so there is every chance he may step up. Calvert and Minstrel Knight appeal most of the remainder.
