VERDICT: The Willie Mullins-trained Steppingstone has shown enough on his last two starts to suggest he can take this finale. Having had a valid excuse when pulled up on his racecourse debut last August, the gelding has reached the frame on both runs this season. Despite being somewhat vulnerable to a more unexposed horse, the Masterstroke gelding sets a fair standard. Bayrann kept on well for third on his recent debut at Kilbeggan. The Tim Doyle-trained five-year-old is entitled to be very competitive if coming on from that initial effort. Supreme Ruler is hard to assess having had just the one start over flights. Although a well beaten third at Punchestown in February, the first two have franked that form subsequently.
