VERDICT: Punters will need to be in a forgiving mood to side with Fifth Column, but it might just pay to do so. The son of Kingman shaped better than the bare result suggests when a running-on seventh over C&D on debut and, with soft ground a likely excuse for his subsequent low-key effort at Ascot, he can gain a breakthrough victory now returning to Polytrack. Consolidation has already shown a smart level of form in his three career starts and another bold bid is forecast. This step back in trip can see Play Me to better effect and he is also noteworthy.
