VERDICT: Bambalam caught the eye with the way he travelled into contention before fading into seventh on his debut in the Convivial over 7f at York last month and, easing in grade with the promise of more to come, this 600,000gns breeze-up purchase gets the vote to score. Methgal wasn't disgraced when sixth in a competitive maiden at Glorious Goodwood and he looks the main danger to the selection, although any market support for Elsass may prove significant.
