VERDICT: Catalyse scored with the minimum of fuss over 6f at Hamilton on debut before finishing mid-division in the Coventry at Royal Ascot. Now with his sights lowered stepping up to 7f for the first time, the Wathnan-owned colt looks the one to side with. Jorge Alvares was doing his best work late on when finishing fourth in a valuable sales race at York last month and might be the main danger to the selection now upped in trip. Of the newcomers, Magellan Cloud appeals most.
