VERDICT: Official ratings suggest Soul Singer, who remains winless but has shown more than enough to suggest he is up to winning a race of this nature, must have a good chance. Preference is for David and Nicola Barron's Wessex, though, who hasn't been seen since finishing seventh on debut last year. That race has worked out extremely well and, though the layoff and application of a hood is a slight cause for concern, he might not need his best to land this.
