VERDICT: Avondale has a useful Flat pedigree and can defy a 6lb rise for winning last month. He has progressed nicely this summer and while well held at Tipperary in early August, met trouble in-running. He seemed well suited by testing ground when making all to win at Roscommon and can continue to progress. Three-year-old Moutarde has been busy this summer and seemed to progress when upped to this distance, on easy ground, recently. He can continue to progress but is 10lb higher than when winning well at Roscommon. Palo Duro is open to vast improvement as he steps up markedly in distance, having stayed on from off the pace over a mile here in July.
