VERDICT: Cases can be made for many of these but marginal preference is for Fast Steps, who did not appear to get home over 1m4f at Epsom. However, that was still a very respectable effort and his previous second over this trip at Sandown is also strong form. Highwaygrey has made the frame in both starts since winning at Pontefract in July and is likely to be in the mix once again. Others to note are Young Fire, Poet's Dawn and Glistening Nights.
