VERDICT: French Duke finished a creditable sixth in the King George V at the Royal meeting in June before striking at Goodwood next time, and he merits the utmost respect despite a subsequent 9lb hike in the ratings. The Reverend sports first-time cheekpieces on his handicap bow and must enter calculations along with stablemate Solomon. A chance is taken on High Order, though, who makes significant appeal now dropped in trip off a 2lb lower mark having perhaps failed to stay an extended 1m6f at Doncaster.
