VERDICT: Several went close on their latest starts, with preference for Hawaii Du Mestivel. The seven-year-old was having only his second outing in a handicap and first since January when runner-up at Uttoxeter, giving the impression this extra yardage would suit. Joker Du Chenet went agonisingly close at Stratford and his jockey's 5lb allowance helps his cause, while Bushmill Boy just failed to catch the winner at Uttoxeter on his debut for Olly Murphy and he is another to consider.
