VERDICT: John Kirkup reaches the milestone of his 100th career start and appeals for a place at least based on his resurgent recent form. However, this trip does appear to stretch him to the limit and it would come as no surprise to see previous C&D winner Variety Island spoil the party, with the forecast ground conditions set to be ideal. Desert Dream has a similar profile and is another suggestion for the shortlist, while Golden Gal is weighted to go well if her stamina holds out.
