VERDICT: The Shark Hanlon-trained Grizabella is probably still well enough handicapped over flights to add another win here. Successful at Wexford in July, the mare returned to that same track last time, where she finished a respectable fourth of 13. Given a rating of 56 on the Flat, one would imagine that she still has some scope for improvement off her current hurdles mark. Malbas ran a big race when runner-up at Down Royal over Christmas but has been absent since. With the winner franking that form subsequently, the John McConnell-trained top-weight should be capable of getting involved if ready after an absence. Former point-to-point winner Due Course is almost certainly capable of better than he has shown under Rules to date.
