VERDICT: Midnight Thunder blew the start at Pontefract on his introduction and did well to finish second given the circumstances. Saeed bin Suroor's Kodiac colt will likely launch a serious challenge with that experience under his belt. Milford was outclassed in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot but looks a threat back at this level, while improvement is expected from Elyam now he's fitted with a hood.
