VERDICT: In an open event marginal preference is for the unexposed Assail following his impressive success over 1m4f at Ascot last month. A 7lb rise will obviously demand more from the four-year-old but he could have improvement to come on just his sixth start. Mr Freedom was far from disgraced off this mark in a strong event at Goodwood last time and he has to be of some interest, while similar comments apply to Subsequent.
