VERDICT: Runner-up on each of his first two starts over 6f, Back In Black has shown more than enough ability to suggest that he can get off the mark, especially with stepping up in a trip looking a wise move. Wiltshire Lad performed with plenty of credit when second at Chester and he looks the main danger to the selection, along with the well-bred Caledonian, who didn't shape without promise on debut at Newbury.
