VERDICT: Scandinavia is a fascinating raider from Ballydoyle and was just behind a stablemate who has won subsequently when third on his Leopardstown introduction. Vecu also started off with plenty of encouragement, but there was perhaps a bit more to take from his narrow Sandown defeat because he didn't get the best of runs and should relish the rise from 7f. Charlie Appleby saddles two newcomers and Arabian Poet is definitely the most interesting, with the son of Dubawi a half-brother to Japan and Mogul. With that in mind, it is no surprise he cost a cool one million guineas as a yearling.
