VERDICT: Dear Cat showed improvement from first to second start when narrowly denied at Newbury in June over 6f and the the manner of that performance gave strong indications that she would relish going up in trip. The daughter of Churchill gets that opportunity on this occasion and she is preferred to Lady Chartwell, who has strong claims on her debut effort at Carlisle. Well-bred newcomer Private Island could be the pick of the newcomers for a stable in excellent form of late.
