VERDICT: Apercu ran really well when second at Down Royal last time and the four-year-old can take another step forward. She got raised 3lb for that effort but there may still be scope for a bit more improvement from the Elzaam filly, who is tried in first-time cheekpieces. Aird obviously has to come into the mix as well, having been just a neck behind the selection when last seen, while Expound is also noted.
