VERDICT: Ice Rain is in the race as the best-weighted runner so needs to be respected, especially over this extended trip with the blinkers removed. Naushon has drawn widest but that suits his running style - he will be on the scene late. Ozark and King Pelles showed encouraging signs last time and ought to make their presence felt. Baton Rouge is dangerous from the front and will be hard to peg back if allowed to lead without pressure. Prime Venture, however, is progressive and impressed last time with a last-to-first win over 1600m. He'll be better suited to this distance so is good value to follow up.
