VERDICT: Good race. Highly regarded Future Variety has taken his game/form to another level after gelding. He has won once, finished 3rd twice and 2nd three times - including a 1200m Grade 2 last time - in 6 starts since he was 'cut' and, with the likelihood of further improvement on his return from a 161-day absence, could make a winning reappearance under favourable conditions. Riverstone is relatively unexposed and is another with scope for improvement on his comeback from a 5-month rest so could also prove better than rated.
