VERDICT: The Ridler got up to grab third towards the finish in a class 4 event at Newmarket on his latest outing and he is off a 1lb lower rating in this weaker contest. Richard Fahey's four-year-old lurks on a career-low mark and he could prove very hard to beat. The main danger might be Sparkling Red, who hit the crossbar over an extended 5f here two starts ago before disappointing at Haydock last time, but he isn't one to write off. Ultramarine can be in the mix for the minor honours.
